Swiss Space Industries is an independent and neutral organization dedicated to becoming a major player in the interstellar transportation business. The SSI is a peaceful organization that always prefers diplomatic relations over acts of war. Enemy combat actions against the SSI lead to direct countermeasures and are reciprocated according to the old Roman law "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth".

2075 A.D.

When Robert Space Industries tested its first successful quantum leap system in 2075, Switzerland was instrumental in its success. By supplying and manufacturing complex components, Switzerland was able to distinguish itself from its competitors in outer space early on. In connection with these events, Switzerland also set up a national state fund, Swiss Space Industries, to further its expansion in space.

2125 A.D.

Unfortunately, the first terraforming project on Mars failed in 2125 and 236 courageous Swiss pioneers lost their lives in the catastrophe. Despite this tragic event, Swiss Space Industries developed excellently and quickly recovered from the severe setbacks. Under the guidance of the SSI, the second terraforming attempt of the planet Mars was successfully completed in 2157. The newly built Mars colony under the Swiss flag was the first major milestone for Swiss Space Industries and laid the foundation for its later specialization in interstellar freight transport. Over the next 300 years, the discovery of Jump Points and the related contact with the alien tribes of Banu and Xi'an were the beginning of a new era for the SSI.

2542 A.D.

The further development of the SSI resulted in a rapid expansion of the fleet to meet the growing interest of the contracting countries. However, during the first interstellar war between humans and the people of Teverin, this was about to change. During a resource transport mission in the newly discovered Idris system, the convoy was attacked by a Teverin fleet. During the attack on the convoy, all 128 crew members of the three caterpillars Lindt, Matterhorn & Grindelwald died.

2610 A.D.

However, another cowardly attack opened the eyes of a young, ambitious fleet commander named Severin von Adler, who after only a short time had earned the respect of the entire organization. During the Teverin attack of a smaller convoy, the young lieutenant fiercely resisted with his Hornet F7C. In under 3 minutes, he recorded 11 kills before being shot down over the planet Idris III. Yet, the damaged machine survived the entry into the atmosphere. Von Adler escaped with serious injuries and became the hero of an interstellar organization. Even the great Ivan Messer, who governs humanity with an iron fist, took advantage of his actions and misused his name for propaganda purposes. After another two years, he was elected president by the SSI board. As a result of his first year in office, the new representative reformed the entire organization by giving more responsibility to the lower positions and introducing a flatter hierarchical structure.

As the relations with the Xi'An and Banu continued to deteriorate, the stress-stricken president and his board decided to establish a new security department responsible for the safety and security of the fleet. Together with Robert Space Industries, the SSI managed to get the manufacturer Aegis Dynamics on board. The merger of the industrial and military fleet shortly before the discovery of the aggressive Vanduul should prove to be trendsetting.

2686 A.D.

Even after the death of von Adler, the new leadership of the SSI continued to have one success after the other. But with the Vanduul as their new enemy, various pirate organizations and other dangers, the SSI is looking for brave pilots ready to push toward the boundaries of the galaxy and contribute to a new chapter in the history of the organization.
